The Newest M&M’s Flavor Vote Winner is an English Toffee Taste Sensation

The results are in for the 2019 M&M’s Flavor Vote campaign, and the winner will pair quite well with a spot of English tea. English Toffee Peanut, one of the three internationally inspired flavors introduced earlier in the year by Mars Incorporated for their Flavor Vote contest, was selected by fans as the pièce de résistance of tastes and is now set to hit store shelves and popular online retailers like CandyWarehouse.com in August.

Mars Incorporated revealed the winner in an August 7, 2019 press release, and describes their newest confection as “the quintessential English Toffee Peanut flavor that tastes as elegant as a trip to Great Britain itself. Featuring a delicious combination of sweet toffee and savory peanut, covered in milk chocolate and wrapped in the brand’s signature colorful crispy shell.” The company says they enjoy inviting their fans to be a part of the flavor-choosing process to influence what will soon be on store shelves.

English Toffee Peanut beat out Mexican Jalapeno Peanut and Thai Coconut Peanut in this year’s vote and takes its place with the winners of three previous Flavor Vote campaigns. In 2016, the victor was Coffee Nut, and the 2018 champion, Crunchy Mint, beat out Crunchy Espresso and Crunchy Raspberry. Mars sweetened the pot in this latest campaign by adding a chance to win a trip to the countries that inspired the contest flavors, which are Mexico, Thailand, and England.

Since these chocolates with a hard candy shell debuted in 1941, M&M’s has a long history of melt in your mouth, not in your hands, deliciousness. They became so popular that other confectioners attempted to imitate the product with inferior counterparts. Mars solved the problem by stamping each candy with the now-iconic “m” and created the slogan “look for them on every piece” to ensure customers knew they were getting an authentic product. The popularity of the plain and peanut versions of the candies continued to increase and peaked when the first space shuttle astronauts chose these favored chocolate candies as part of their in-space food supply.

The latest edition to the M&M family is a jolly good sweet that will soon take up residence on store shelves and be available at online retailers in an easy to tote 2.83-ounce Share Size, as well as an 8-ounce Sharing Size Stand Up Pouch.
