Wow! This is the best licorice I have ever tasted in my 80 years of life. I have always loved black licorice but then several years ago I discovered I had a gluten issue. I was constantly on the look out for licorice that was not made from wheat. A friend a month ago spotted Gimbal's for me. I immediately went on line and ordered a box of 6 packages. I was in licorice heaven. Now I am out and I see on line that Gimbal's has closed. Does that mean that black Scotties will never be made again. This seems to be a pattern for me. I find a product I love then stores stop having it shortly after. Bottom line, Gimbal's Black Scottie Dogs Licorice has the very best flavor and texture of any licorice around. I hope it is still being made.

Not everyone likes black licorice, but if you do these little gems are the best around.

My Grandfather was from Copenhagen, Denmark and he would always greet me with several pieces of Licorice when my Dad would take me to his dairy farm in Michigan for the summer. My job was to milk cows twice each day — at 5 AM and 5PM. We only hand milked then and there were three of us: my Grandpa, another cousin and myself to milk 137 cows!l He would give my cousin and I licorice for an award for doing a good job. I loved it then and I love it now!!
