Cow tales candy history is a celebration of American ingenuity that began when Goetze’s Candy opened its doors in 1895! Initially founded in Maryland as the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company, this family-owned and operated confectioner shifted gears in the 1940s, abandoning chewing gum in favor of producing the most luscious caramels ever made. Their first creation to hit the market was caramel creams, the sweet and creamy delights known as “Bulls Eyes.” These delicious, chewy treats were made using a secret family recipe, and gained instant popularity, which led to the 1984 introduction of an elongated version affectionately named Cow Tales. To this day, these smooth, melt in your mouth confections are made using the original recipe, with ingredients sourced from American suppliers whenever possible, to continue supporting the livelihoods of those who call the USA their home!
