During the period between 1903 to 1969, it’s hard to tell what this tasty treat was called. However, it’s documented that decades after its creation, it was referred to by the name Werther’s Echte. The word “echte” translates to true, authentic, or real, which is representative of the ingredients used to make the goodies – real butter, fresh cream, and white and brown sugar. Packaged into glistening golden wrappers, these sweets have been passed down through generations, with smiles along with them.
